To better understand ETD and the ACCLARENT AERA® Eustachian Tube Balloon Dilation System, here is a helpful list of terms and definitions.

ACCLARENT AERA® Eustachian Tube Balloon Dilation System:

A medical device used to perform a minimally invasive procedure that treats persistent ETD.

ETD:

Eustachian tube dysfunction.

Eustachian tube:

A passage that leads to your middle ear. The narrowing and/or clogging of the Eustachian tubes can cause you to experience ear discomfort.

Sinusitis:

Sinusitis is an inflammation of the membranes lining the sinuses. If the sinus opening becomes blocked, normal mucus drainage may not occur, and this may lead to recurrent sinus infections and painful symptoms. Sinusitis can be acute (sudden onset) or chronic (long-term).
