Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Location: Menlo Park, CA
Job Summary:
The Human Resources Manager will be the senior HR professional at Acclarent supporting executive management as a strategic business partner, as well as providing the employee population with hands-on, broad based functional support. In a broad sense, this position is responsible for formulating sound HR strategy and tactics, developing appropriate HR infrastructure and leading the HR organization in providing efficient, effective and balanced support that meets the changing needs of the company and its employees.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Formulate HR strategy and tactics to support corporate goals and objectives;
- Foster strong business partnerships with management and supervisory personnel;
- Prepare and manage operating budget for human resources organization;
- Develop, implement, maintain & audit HR policies, procedures and systems;
- Recruit, interview, test and assist in selection of employees to fill open positions;
- Plan and conduct new employee orientations to foster positive attitude toward company;
- Prepare employee separation documentation and conduct exit interviews;
- Coordinate training in a wide variety of legislated and company specific subjects;
- Analyze market wage and salary reports and prepare competitive compensation plan;
- Prepare semi-monthly payroll, manage outside service provider and maintain records;
- Maintain option database and prepare applicable grant, exercise & term documents;
- Administer benefits programs (insurance, PTO, leaves, 401K, Section 125, EAP, etc.);
- Administer performance & salary review programs to ensure effectiveness & equity;
- Advise management on appropriate strategies to resolve employee relations issues;
- Insure compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations;
- Study legislation, arbitration decisions, etc. to assess industry trends;
- Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations;
- Oversee analysis, maintenance and communication of records required by law;
- Maintain personnel records and employee statistics for government reporting;
- Develop and maintain a HRIS that meets management’s information needs;
- Lead company’s Health & Safety program, investigate accidents & prepare reports;
- Coordinate contracts with outside suppliers providing employee services;
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Arts Degree, with studies applicable to Human Resource Management;
- Graduate Degree, HR Certifications and Society Memberships highly desirable;
- Minimum of 5 years experience in HR management role (medical devices a big plus);
- Start-Up experience helpful in understanding unique cultures and challenges;
- Proven track record of building strong HR organizations from the ground floor;
- Deep understanding of applicable regulations and ability to audit for compliance;
- Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with employees at all levels of the organization;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral (including public speaking);
- Superior ability to mediate disputes, diffuse tensions and negotiate effective solutions;
- Advanced computer skills and working knowledge of ERP and HRIS environments
